Privacy
This is a draft. It hasn't been checked by a lawyer yet, and it may change before Brixborg opens to everyone.
Last changed 15 October 2026. See also the Rules.
This page says what Brixborg keeps about you, why, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
Brixborg is run by Brixborg Owners. We are the ones in charge of what is kept about you here. For anything on this page, email automaticmidder@gmail.com.
What we don't ask for
We don't ask for your real name, email address, phone number, address, or any payment details. Your account is just a name you pick and a password.
When you sign up, we ask the month and year you were born, only to check that you are old enough. That isn't saved.
What we keep
- Your account: your account name, the body you picked, when you joined, your About me, how your avatar looks, what you own, and your Brixrods.
- Your password, scrambled. It is stored in a way that can't be turned back into your password, not even by us.
- What you do on the website: your friendborgs, groups, forum posts, group wall posts, messages, trades, likes and dislikes on games, and reports you send.
- What you make: games you publish and their pictures, and things you upload to the Shop or the Archive.
- Games you've played, for your "Games previously played" list.
- Game saves: games can save your progress (like points or levels) on the computer that runs the game, linked to your account number.
- Moderator notes: warnings, mutes, and bans on your account, with the reasons.
Why we keep it
- Most of it is simply how Brixborg works: your account, what you make, your friendborgs, messages and trades. Without it, there would be no Brixborg to use.
- Reports, moderator notes, and the word filter's copies are kept to keep Brixborg safe, especially for younger players.
- We don't use anything about you for ads, and we don't build a picture of you to sell or show to anyone.
Cookies
We use one cookie, and only to keep you logged in. It lasts 30 days, or until you log out. There are no ads, no tracking cookies, and no outside services watching what you do. (If you are too young to sign up, a second cookie stops the sign-up page for a day. It holds nothing about you.)
Your internet address (IP address)
- The website uses it for up to an hour to stop people from guessing passwords or making lots of accounts. It isn't saved.
- When you play a game, the game server sees your address, because it needs it to send you the game.
Chat in games
Chat is checked by the word filter as you send it, and isn't saved. The only exception is a line with a bad word spelled in a sneaky way (like with numbers for letters). A copy of that line goes to the moderators, so a person can decide what to do.
Who can see what
- Everyone: your profile (name, avatar, About me, when you joined), and anything you post or make in public: forum posts, wall posts, published games, uploads, groups, and your likes and dislikes.
- Only you and the other player: your messages and trades. A moderator can read a message if it is reported, or if the word filter flags it.
- Moderators: reports, and the moderator notes on accounts. They use these only to keep Brixborg safe.
Who we share it with
Nobody. We don't sell anything about you, and we don't give it to advertisers. The website runs on our own computers. We would only hand something over if the law made us.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account until it is deleted.
- We make a backup copy of everything once a day, so nothing is lost if something breaks. Each backup is deleted after 14 days.
- Things moderators take down are kept for the moderators, in case a take-down needs to be undone or someone keeps breaking the rules.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to do any of these, and we will within 30 days:
- See what we keep about you, and take a copy. Log in, then come back here: there is a "Download my data" link for your account.
- Fix something that's wrong. Most things you can change yourself (your About me, your avatar). For anything else, email us.
- Delete your account, and the things linked to it (see "Deleting your account" below).
- Stop us using something. If you don't want something about you used in a certain way, tell us and we will stop, unless we need it to keep Brixborg safe.
Email automaticmidder@gmail.com from wherever you like, and say your account name. So that nobody else can ask about your account, we may ask you to send us a message from your account on the website to show it's you.
If you aren't happy with how we answered, you can complain to the people in your country who look after data protection (in the UK that's the ICO; in Europe, your country's data protection authority).
Keeping it safe
Passwords are scrambled, logging in only works over a secure (https) connection when the website has one, and only the moderators can see reports and notes. If something about you ever got out by mistake, we would say so on the website and tell you.
The Brixborg program
The program you download keeps its files in your own user folder on your computer. Each time you start it, it asks the website if there's a newer version. It doesn't send anything about you.
Deleting your account
To have your account deleted, email automaticmidder@gmail.com. Your account and profile are removed, and you are logged out everywhere. Your game saves are removed too. Things you posted in public, like forum posts, may stay up, but without your name on them. Copies in the daily backups are gone within 14 days.
Children
You must be 13 or older to make an account, and the sign-up page checks. If you're a parent and your child under 13 has an account, email automaticmidder@gmail.com with its name, and we will delete it. Parents can also ask us to see or delete what we keep about their child.
Changes
If this page changes in a big way, we will say so on the website before it happens.
