Help
Getting started
- Make an account. Press Sign up, pick a name (3 to 20 letters, numbers or _) and a password. Everyone sees your name, so don't use your real one.
- Download Brixborg. On the Download page, get BrixborgSetup.exe and open it. It installs Brixborg for you (no admin needed) and puts Brixborg and Brixborg Studio in your Start menu.
- Play. Go to Games, pick one, and press the big green Play button. The first time, your browser asks whether to open Brixborg: tick "Always allow" and say yes. The game asks for your name and password once, then remembers you for 30 days.
Brixborg runs on Windows. It keeps itself up to date: each time you press Play, it checks for a newer version and downloads only what changed.

Your account
- Your avatar: Customize changes your body colours and what you wear (one shirt, pants, t-shirt, face and gear, and up to 3 hats and accessories). It's how you look in every game.
- Your body (male or female) is picked when you sign up, and can't be changed.
- About me: on your own profile page (click your name at the top).
- Your password: Change password. Doing it logs you out everywhere else, which is handy if someone else might know your old one.
- Your name can't be changed.
I forgot my password
We don't ask for your email address, so we can't send you a link to make a new password. That keeps Brixborg private, but it means your password is the only key to your account: write it down somewhere safe, or let your browser remember it.
If you're still logged in somewhere (in the browser, or in the game), you can set a new password on the Change password page, if you remember the old one. If you're locked out completely, email automaticmidder@gmail.com with your account name. We can only help if we can be sure the account is yours, so we can't promise.
Brixrods and the Shop
- Brixrods are Brixborg's money. You can see how many you have at the top of every page. They are only for Brixborg and can't be turned into real money.
- New accounts start with a free outfit. Ways to earn Brixrods are coming.
- In the Shop, things with a price cost Brixrods; others are free. What you get goes in your Inventory, ready to wear on the Customize page.
- Your own clothes: Shop > Upload clothes. Download the template, paint it, and upload it as a shirt, pants or t-shirt (up to 10 a day). Others can buy it for 10 Brixrods. Everything uploaded has to follow the Rules.
- Never pay real money to anyone for Brixrods or items. It's against the rules, and it's usually a scam.
Friendborgs, messages and trades
- Friendborgs: on Friendborgs, type a player's name and press Add. Once they accept, you can see when they're online and which game they're in. Up to 200.
- Messages: on Messages, write to anyone by name (up to 50 a day). Only you and they can read them, unless one is reported.
- Trades: on Trade, offer some of your items for some of theirs. Nothing changes hands until they accept. Look carefully at what you're getting before you press Accept: trades can't be undone.
Groups and the forum
- Groups: join any group from Groups. Making your own costs 500 Brixrods; then you make its ranks, decide what each rank can do, put games in it, and make allies (or declare wars) with other groups.
- The forum: Forum is for talking about Brixborg, building, scripting and anything else. Start a thread on the board it fits.
Making games
- Open Brixborg Studio from the Start menu (it's installed with Brixborg).
- Build: add parts, move and size them, colour them, and give them scripts (Lua, like games from around 2010). The Archive is full of models, gear, hats and scripts anyone can put in their game; the studio's Archive panel has them all.
- Press Play in the studio to try it, or Test > Start a server and players to try it with a few players at once.
- File > Publish to brixborg... puts it on the Games page (log in with your account the first time). Publish again with the same name to update it. Your games are on your Projects page.
- Made something others could use? Select it in the studio and press List your own in the Archive panel, and it goes in the Archive for everyone.
Staying safe
- Never tell anyone your password, not even a friend. Brixborg's moderators will never ask for it.
- Don't share your real name, address, school, phone number, photos, or other accounts, and don't go and talk to people somewhere off Brixborg.
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, asks for personal things, or is being nasty: press Report next to what they wrote, or on their profile. Only the moderators see reports, and nobody is told who sent one.
- Bad words are covered with ####. If someone gets around the filter, it gets sent to the moderators.
- Read the Rules: they're short.
I've been muted, warned or banned
- Muted: for a while you can play, but you can't chat, post or message. It ends by itself; the pop-up said when.
- Warned: you got a message saying which rule was broken. Nothing else happens, but keep to the rules.
- Banned: you can't log in to the website or games, for some days or for good. You were told why.
Every one of these is decided by a person, never by the website on its own. If you think a moderator got it wrong, email automaticmidder@gmail.com with your account name, and someone else will look at it.
Something isn't working
- "Windows protected your PC" when installing: press More info, then Run anyway. Windows says this about programs it hasn't seen much yet.
- Play does nothing: your browser may have asked whether to open Brixborg. Press Play again and say yes (tick "Always allow"). If there's no question at all, run BrixborgSetup.exe again from the Download page.
- The game can't connect: the game's server may have just closed. Go back to the game's page and press Play again; a new one starts.
- It's slow: Esc > Graphics, and turn it down.
- Found a bug? Tell us on the Forum, or email automaticmidder@gmail.com. Please don't use it to ruin games for others.
For parents
- Brixborg is for players 13 and older; signing up asks for the month and year they were born.
- We don't ask for a real name, email address, phone number, or any payment details, and there are no ads. The Privacy page says exactly what is kept.
- Chat and posts go through a word filter, anything can be reported, and moderators (real people) deal with reports. Players are told not to share personal details or move conversations off Brixborg.
- There is nothing to buy with real money.
- To see what's kept about your child's account, or have it deleted, email automaticmidder@gmail.com with the account name.
